Audi 80 2.0 abk Klima wiring harness after upgrade

  • Hello everyone, my name is Lucian and I live in North Italy. The last autumn I started to install a AC system on my 2.0 ABK '94 Audi 89 cabrio.

To be short, I have one last wire which I cannot understand where is going. On the wiring diagram it goes on the "ELECTRONIC THERMO SWITCH", but I cannot understand what is that. That wore is passing through the 5 pin red connector, and is arrive in the F14/G2 .....sensor/switch/....or what that means.

The AC sistem is working, the air is cold, the compressor is turning off when the pressure is too high... everything seems to be fine.

But I know that I left that wire "BLUE/WHITE" free and this is not normal.

I think that his function is to turn off the compressor when the 2 velocity off the fan is active (too keep the idle off the engine when the power consumption is higher).

    This is only my supposition....

If anyone can help me with the destination of that wiring, it will be great.

    Thanks all for attention.

  • I do not understand everthing.

I think you are talkting about in german "Hochdruckschalter". This measure the pressure (which is more or less the temperatur of the R134a". If the pressure is over a special level, the ventilator of the radiator move to higher rotation. This mens, more air leads threw the radiator, the R134a is getting cooler.

If the R134a is too warm, it will not condensate in the condensator (Radiator for R134a).

More or less, when the Hochdruckschalter is activated, the ventilator has to switch to higher level.

    I hope this helps......

    By the way.

The V6 needs a bigger generator for the electric.....

  • Thank you for answering. Mine is a 2.0abk, so doesn't need a bigger generator for the electric. I want to know where I have to connect that "BLUE/WHITE" wire. It comes from the compressor relay, pass true the red 5 pin connector and goes to.....? I don't know where....

Maybe someone understands better the diagram and can help.

    Thanks

  • Hello Lucian,

the part you search for is a grey sensor. It is next to the blue coolant water sensor near the cylinder head. The sensor has three connectors, two of them are already connected with your dashboard (water temperature). The third one is for the AC, it stops the AC if the coolant water is too hot.
